Signing up for the Fortnite closed beta doesn’t require a GeForce NOW membership, but members will get priority on the waitlist. Gaming on an RTX 3080, which makes the 2080 look last-gen, is exclusively available to the top tier of membership, along with a higher maximum display resolution, up to 120 FPS, and 4K support.įortnite fans can look forward to enjoying Fortnite on iOS devices soon, thanks to NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW streaming service. The paid membership tiers offer premium gaming rigs with RTX enabled, longer gaming sessions, and priority access to gaming servers. GeForce NOW offers three membership tiers, with an entry-level Free tier that allows members to enjoy an hour-long gaming session, with standard access to GeForce NOW’s gaming servers. For the first time, GeForce NOW members could play their favorite PC games on iPhone and iPad, through the iOS Safari web browser. NVIDIA first introduced support for GeForce NOW on iOS Safari in late 2020. GeForce NOW’s library already includes the desktop version of Fortnite, however, the mobile version will be optimized for mobile devices, with touch-screen controls allowing players to use their phone as a controller. GeForce NOW allows members to stream games directly to their devices in real-time. At the time, some thought it signaled the decline of GeForce NOW, however, the platform has continued to flourish since. Shortly before Microsoft announced its $7.5 billion acquisition of ZeniMax, Bethesda’s parent company, all Bethesda games were removed from GeForce NOW. NVIDIA’s game streaming service has also encountered its fair share of issues. NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW is a cloud-based game streaming service, similar to the well-known but less popular Google Stadia. Thanks to GeForce NOW, players will once again be able to access Fortnite on iOS Safari & Android devices. Many were disappointed at the news that Apple had blacklisted Fortnite, meaning Fortnite won’t return to the App Store for several years, or at least until court proceedings conclude. Fortnite has been absent from Apple's App Store and the Google Play Store for 17 months, unfortunately for those fans who enjoy playing Fortnite on their phones.
